  • Our client had his home repossessed by the bank who then sought to foreclose on his business premises too, in order to fulfil their Guarantees. Colonnade assisted stalling the bankers whilst we introduced the client to a business angel. Critically, everything was concluded right up to the deadline hour, with Petros keeping the relationships open with the bankers whilst negotiating an awkward deal credibly and successfully. Together we saved the client’s business and livelihood. A.Christofi Partner A G Kakouris

  • We faced an Intellectual Property claim. A blue-chip ‘high-street’ fashion retailer routinely blanket attacked competitors. The idea was to use IP law to ‘knock out’ seasonal competition. Colonnade teamed up with our direct access barrister and forced the plaintiff’s solicitors to retrace steps and even had them prove costs in their own offices, whilst defeating the lawsuit elements he was involved with. It was a low-cost moral victory and we avoided the high costs the other side were hoping to extract from the strategy. Petros made them go away with a dogged determination. He really wound up the other side and in the end, they were truly glad to see the back of us and him! I.Kolios Former Director No Name UK Ltd

  • Colonnade’s debt service assisted us to collect old book debts and ones with unusual issues. Petros uniquely used negotiation rather than legal methods, even persuading a Director to pay a debt personally when his business had already gone under. Harry Georgiou MD Amathus Drinks plc   Colonnade conducted over thirty successful HMRC negotiations providing clients vital cash flow with ‘Time to Pay’ arrangements. All agreements have since been adhered to, providing our firm with credibility with the local Tax Offices as well as helping our clients during their difficult periods. • Colonnade assisted our entry into Westfield Shopping Centre. They took advantage of the arbitrage presenting from former occupiers desperate to leave the centre to minimise their losses; Colonnade arranged a negotiated takeover of their company and reached agreement with the landlord and other creditors to achieve write-off of £170k, even obtaining a 3 month rent-free period going forward. They also protected the £96k rent deposit, meaning we had a ‘no risk’ entry into the centre. It was truly remarkable what was achieved. Jack Ipdjian, former Director Migato Store

  • My former business partner was a friend of 15 years, but the relationship soon turned sour after we partnered up together in a business venture.  Colonnade prepared the groundwork for a successful disposal of shares between us. This solution was previously unthinkable because we had been in dispute and had not spoken for over a year. The mediation solved that issue and brought us all around a table, which was not easy, but did allow resolution to take place. Anon (Director of a London Café/Restaurant)

  • Petros advised the Board through a very difficult sale of our 190 year old business and brought about a satisfactory conclusion for all concerned. He had the confidence of the Directors and the selling solicitors to see them through to the best outcome for the fifty plus shareholders. Hugh Kelly, former M.D. W. Williams & Son Ltd.   Petros Georgiou and I were on opposite sides of a takeover; he represented the target and was, at times, a pain in the arse. As the negations drew to a successful conclusion, my respect for him grew. A problem with detailed negotiation is often that the players have little experience, less knowledge and rely on a bevy of “Experts” all of whom can bring “Agendas” to the table that can seriously muddy the waters. Petros remained focused and displayed a deep and wide-ranging knowledge, financial, legal and human resource that were vital to all sides. Above all he demonstrated his understanding of a key element of all successful negotiators – the purpose is a successful conclusion that satisfies all participants. Negotiations are not about winning or losing they are about solving. Petros is pre-eminently a solver and I unhesitatingly recommend his services. […]

  • Petros uncovered serious fraud that had gone undiscovered for ten years. He produced a detailed document for the Board, HMRC and Auditors. He then went about recovering £170k (95%) of the amount taken and handled the HMRC investigation intelligently and with minimum fuss. This work was recognised and praised by the Firm’s shareholders at Meeting whilst he also managed to obtain a ‘goodwill’ payment from the Auditors who had missed the fraud for nine years.
